To coincide with Universal Children’s Day, states and territories across the country will be celebrating all that it means to be a child in Australia from the 22nd-28th October!
A diverse range of events and activities are organised at National, State and Local levels, focusing the attention of the wider community on children, their rights, and achievements. Children’s Week celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood.
Each year the theme of Children’s Week highlights a particular Children’s Right. This year’s theme is based on UNCRC Article 27:
Children have the right to a standard of living that is good enough to meet their physical and mental needs. The government should help families who cannot afford to provide this.
We’ve listed a few of the celebrations happening around the nation in the upcoming week, but make sure to search up your local area for ideas – there’s plenty on!
